Exact Reconstruction using Beurling Minimal Extrapolation

چکیده
We show that measures with finite support on the real line are the unique solution to an algorithm, named generalized minimal extrapolation, involving only a finite number of generalized moments (which encompass the standard moments, the Laplace transform, the Stieltjes transformation, etc.). Generalized minimal extrapolation shares related geometric properties with the basis pursuit approach of Chen, Donoho and Saunders [CDS98]. Indeed we also extend some standard results of compressed sensing (the dual polynomial, the nullspace property) to the signed measure framework. We express exact reconstruction in terms of a simple interpolation problem. We prove that every nonnegative measure, supported by a set containing s points, can be exactly recovered from only 2s+ 1 generalized moments. This result leads to a new construction of deterministic sensing matrices for compressed sensing.

3D Image Reconstruction from Truncated Helical Cone Beam Projection Data - A Linear Prediction Approach
With the introduction of 2D flat-panel X-ray detectors, 3D image reconstruction using helical cone-beam tomography is fast replacing the conventional 2D reconstruction techniques. In 3D image reconstruction, the source orbit or scanning geometry should satisfy the data sufficiency or completeness condition for exact reconstruction. The helical scan geometry satisfies this condition and hence ca...
متن کاملSuper-resolution by Means of Beurling Minimal Extrapolation
Let M(T) be the space of complex bounded Radon measures defined on the ddimensional torus group (R/Z) = T, equipped with the total variation norm ‖ · ‖; and let μ̂ denote the Fourier transform of μ ∈ M(T). We address the super-resolution problem: For given spectral (Fourier transform) data defined on a finite set Λ ⊆ Z, determine if there is a unique μ ∈ M(T) for which μ̂ equals this data on Λ. W...
متن کاملVector-extrapolated fast maximum likelihood estimation algorithms for emission tomography
A new class of fast maximum-likelihood estimation (MLE) algorithms for emission computed tomography (ECT) is developed. In these cyclic iterative algorithms, vector extrapolation techniques are integrated with the iterations in gradient-based MLE algorithms, with the objective of accelerating the convergence of the base iterations. This results in a substantial reduction in the effective number...
متن کاملReconstructing Supersymmetric Theories at the Linear Collider
High precision measurements at the linear collider will allow a modelindependent reconstruction of nature at high energy scales. The method of bottom-up extrapolation from the electroweak scale to the GUT scale is explained and both a universal minimal supergravity and a gaugino-mediated model are presented as examples. Comparisons are made with the LHC-only case.

Zhdanov, M.S. and Tjan, T., 1994. Migration by analytic continuation through a variable background medium. Journal of Seismic Exploration, 3: 283-297. Conventional migration of wavefields is based on depth extrapolation of the upgoing field in reverse time. This extrapolation provides us with a means to determine the positions of reflectors and diffraction points and, therefore, to produce an i...
